Jersey City, N.J. \u2013 October 10, 2013 –<\/strong> 猫咪社区 Peter\u2019s University and Nanchang Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), a university located in the capital city of Nanchang in the Province of JiangXi, China, signed an academic collaboration agreement for two new undergraduate programs. A One Plus Three Program allows qualified NIST students to complete their first year of undergraduate study at NIST and then matriculate at 猫咪社区 Peter\u2019s University for three years to complete a bachelor\u2019s degree. A One-Year program allows NIST students to enroll at 猫咪社区 Peter\u2019s University for one year to study language and culture as non-matriculated students.<\/p>\n

According to Velda Goldberg, Ph.D., dean of the College of Arts and Sciences\/School of Business Administration at 猫咪社区 Peter\u2019s, \u201cInspired by our Jesuit, Catholic identity, we have a long history of welcoming international students to our community, and the University is an ideal place for international students because of our extraordinarily diverse student body, broad curricular offerings, location in Jersey City\u2014the second most diverse city in the nation, and our close proximity to leading industries and business in the New York metropolitan area.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Institute of International Education, international education exchanges are at an all-time high and in 2012 international exchanges contributed $22.7 billion to the U.S. economy. Students from around the world who study in the United States bring new perspectives into the classroom and ultimately prepare domestic students for careers in today\u2019s global market.<\/p>\n

This particular academic collaboration agreement was designed to provide opportunities for academic collaboration between the two universities and to enhance and enrich the cultures of the students at 猫咪社区 Peter\u2019s and at NIST. The goal of the program is to encourage interpersonal communication between these diverse cultures and promote understanding among their respective people.<\/p>\n

During their first semester at 猫咪社区 Peter\u2019s University, NIST students will enroll in four zero-credit courses devoted to the study and practice of the English language. During the second semester, NIST students may enroll in up to 15 credits comprised of any five 猫咪社区 Peter\u2019s courses. Upon the completion of their second semester, they will return to NIST.<\/p>\n
