Trilateral partnership with Universidad Latina de Am茅rica and Quadrat铆n Hispano will advance journalism, research, media innovation, and cross-cultural understanding across the Americas
JERSEY CITY, N.J. 鈥 September 21, 2026 鈥 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University has announced the creation of the Inter-American Institute for Communication and Culture (IICC) (Instituto Interamericano de Comunicaci贸n y Cultura), a new trilateral partnership bringing together 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University (SPU), Universidad Latina de Am茅rica (UNLA) in Mexico and Quadrat铆n Hispano, a bilingual media organization operating in the United States, founded as an extension of Quadrat铆n M茅xico, its originating media organization and founding partner.
The IICC will establish a collaborative model connecting higher education and the professional media industry across national borders. Through this partnership, faculty, students, journalists, researchers and civic leaders will work together to examine the diverse economic, social, technological and political issues shaping the United States, Mexico, and the broader Americas.
By integrating academic excellence, professional newsroom expertise, and collaborative research, the IICC will support the preparation of bilingual and bicultural leaders, will produce impactful investigative reporting, strengthen democratic discourse, and build enduring partnerships that advance understanding throughout the Americas.

As a founding industry partner, Quadrat铆n Hispano will provide opportunities for experiential learning while collaborating with the Institute on investigative journalism, newsroom innovation, media partnerships, content distribution, and professional development. The partnership will also connect the Institute鈥檚 academic work with audiences beyond the university and create opportunities for students and emerging professionals to engage directly with experienced journalists.
Universidad Latina de Am茅rica, based in Morelia, Michoac谩n, will contribute its academic expertise and international perspective, strengthening opportunities for cross-border research, educational programming and collaboration between scholars and practitioners.
猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 will bring to the partnership its longstanding Jesuit tradition of academic excellence, ethical leadership, global engagement and commitment to educating students for lives of service and leadership.
