Stephanie Squires, Ph.D., Appointed Dean of the Caulfield School of Education

猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University announced the appointment of Stephanie Squires, Ph.D., as dean of the Caulfield School of Education. Dr. Squires comes to 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 from the College of Mount 猫咪社区 Vincent where she served as the director of teacher education. She has had held numerous positions in higher education, including faculty member, grant coordinator and director, dean, associate vice president for academic affairs and executive dean. As a special educator, Dr. Squires taught students with autism in public school settings in the New Orleans area. She has also served as a behavior consultant to school districts and agencies.

Squires will lead continuing efforts to support and expand excellence in educator preparation programs and provide new and varied program options that meet the interests and needs of current and future education students.鈥

Dr. Squires holds a strong commitment to inclusive practice and support for diversity in higher education. She has worked closely with numerous higher education partners, yielding increased enrollment in teacher education programs at both Concordia College and the College of Mount 猫咪社区 Vincent in New York City. To increase enrollment and support partnerships, Dr. Squires developed or collaborated with colleagues to write several new and innovative programs in teacher education.

She holds a doctorate in special education with a minor in educational leadership from the University of New Orleans, a bachelor鈥檚 in psychology and education from the College of New Rochelle and a MSED in special education from the University of New Orleans.
