猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 is proud to announce that the University was recognized among the top ten for best value institutions 听as 6th听in the Regional Universities North category in the 2023听U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings.
猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 also held its place of 58th听in the Regional Universities North category overall, after making a considerable climb last year. In addition, the University was recognized for its excellence in social mobility and economic diversity.
鈥U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings听are a valued resource for many students and parents during the college search process and 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 is honored to continually be recognized in the areas that matter to our community,鈥 said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University. 鈥淭his year鈥檚 rankings are a testament to the University鈥檚 growing reputation, results of our strategic plan,听Vitality, Value and Viability, and our increase in graduation rates, among other factors.鈥
In order to determine the best value rankings,听U.S. News & World Report听considers factors such as the institution鈥檚 academic quality and the net cost of attendance for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid. Colleges and universities that were ranked highest on this list had the best quality programs at the lowest cost. For the overall rankings,听U.S. News & World Report听utilizes 17 measures of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, academic reputation, faculty resources, financial resources and alumni giving, among others.
猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 was ranked highest in the state of New Jersey in social mobility and 11th听in the Regional Universities North category overall.听U.S. News & World Report听defines social mobility by a college鈥檚 success in the upward socio-economic movement of students by enrolling and graduating students awarded federal grants. The University was also ranked 5th听in economic diversity in the category overall. Economic diversity is measured based on the percentage of undergraduates receiving federal Pell Grants for low income students.
U.S. News & World Report听defines a regional university as one that provides a full-range of undergraduate programs and master鈥檚 programs, but few doctoral programs. The North Regional University category includes institutions of this nature in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington D.C.
