Jersey City, N.J. 鈥 March 10, 2022 鈥 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University is proud to announce that it has earned the 2022-2023 Military Friendly庐 School designation. Military Friendly庐 is the standard that measures an organization鈥檚 commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunity for the military community. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey with 665 earning special awards for going above the standard. 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 earned a silver designation on the list of private universities offering doctorate degrees.
猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 has a long history of providing assistance to veterans, services members and their dependents in order to ensure a seamless transition into the civilian academic arena. The University has recently accelerated its efforts to support this population with the hire of Frank Rivera to serve in the inaugural role of director of military and veterans services. 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 provides assistance with admissions, academic advisement and registration, student support and advocacy, internal and external referral services and veteran educational counseling and processing. In November 2021, 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 was presented with the New Jersey Governor鈥檚 鈥淲e Value Our Veterans鈥 Academia Award in recognition of the University鈥檚 efforts in this area.
鈥淎t 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 we understand the unique needs of veterans and military personnel and we are dedicated to providing them with the necessary resources to succeed in their educational journeys,鈥 said Rivera. 鈥淲e are honored to be recognized with the Military Friendly庐 School designation and we will continue to enrich and expand our efforts to support our veteran and active military students.鈥
Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly庐 Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution鈥檚 survey scores with the assessment of the institution鈥檚 ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
鈥淢ilitary Friendly庐 is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process,鈥 said Kayla Lopez, national director of military partnerships, Military Friendly庐. 鈥淥ur standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the military community. This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages colleges to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. Schools who achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, going over and above that standard.鈥

The Military Friendly庐 Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly庐 Schools survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers.
