This year鈥檚 Hearts & Minds: The 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University Scholarship Celebration honored two esteemed alumni, Niurka 鈥淣ikki鈥 Mederos 鈥07, 鈥10 for Service to Community and Eugene T. Paolino, Esq. 鈥69 for Professional Achievement. The annual event brought a crowd of more than 200 guests to The Duncan Family Sky Room. The highlight of the evening was a live Fund-a-Scholar auction, moderated by Eugene O. Flinn 鈥80. The auction raised $75,000 for the General Scholarship Fund in just a few minutes. The energy of the auction was fueled by a compelling and deeply touching speech given by Nicholas Raghunandan 鈥20, 鈥21, an accounting major. All proceeds from the event support the General Scholarship Fund, which allows students to graduate with less debt.
The event was chaired by Susan Mitchell-Abbate 鈥72, vice chair of the 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University Board of Trustees and Genova Burns LLC was the presenting sponsor.
