Jersey City, N.J. 鈥 October 21, 2013 鈥 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University has officially met three of the six goals for Students at the Center: The Campaign for 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University, the largest capital campaign in the University鈥檚 history. The comprehensive Campaign was publicly launched in May 2011 and has a minimum total goal of $62 million. The three Campaign priorities which have been completed include The 猫咪社区 Peter Fund, Endowment and Athletics. The final remaining priorities are the Mac Mahon Student Center, 猫咪社区 and Jesuit Mission and Identity. 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 has currently raised more than $58 million, which is 94 percent of the total goal.
鈥淭he progress is a tribute to the dedication and loyalty of more than 8,500 donors,鈥 said Michael A. Fazio, vice president for advancement and external affairs at 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University.聽 鈥淭heir message has been received loud and clear: they believe in what 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 is and in what we will become. Now, as we approach the finish line, we are redoubling our efforts, motivated by the impact Students at the Center has already made.鈥
The three remaining priorities will be the focus of campaign efforts as Students at the Center moves forward. These priorities include the Mac Mahon Student Center, 猫咪社区 and Jesuit Mission and Identity.
The doors of the Mac Mahon Student Center officially opened in March 2013. The nearly 90,000 square foot, six-story facility is located on the east side of campus spanning from Montgomery Street to Glenwood Avenue. The signature building has transformed the physical campus and now serves as a dynamic hub of activity for the University community. The state-of-the-art facility is a new home for dining, fitness, learning and socializing. The Duncan Family Sky Room serves the local community as an event space for special events and community meetings.
Plans for advancement in academics include program development, faculty support, and academic facility improvements, among other items.
At the heart of 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 is its Jesuit mission and values. Specific areas of focus within the Jesuit Mission and Identity priority include funding for campus ministry, retreat programming enhancements, and the operation of St. Aedan鈥檚: The 猫咪社区 Peter鈥檚 University Church.
