At this time, the poster printer is funded through the PODER Grant and may only be used for PODER-related printing or at the discretion of the STEM E&amp;E Center Coordinators.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeszyW-A7Jl_Z_FxwhYt32pRBU-WM_51Hc8nvuR34QGR4aonA\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submit a request for poster printing<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>STEM E&amp;E Center Event Space Requests<\/h2>\n<p><span> Please submit a center event space request <\/span><strong>at least 3\u20134 weeks in advance<\/strong><span> of your proposed date. Submission does not guarantee approval; confirmation will be sent after review.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeX34zR2l2jLytvCiLuGWzbI0mujTrtAv9FCc2gC2zWfg_vPQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submit a request for a center event space<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Tutoring &amp; Peer Mentoring Services<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peer tutoring and learning assistance is offered Monday through Friday from 8AM-4PM in-person. The classes that tutoring sessions are offered for can be found through EAB Navigate 360 where students can make their own appointments or by emailing <a href=\"mailto:stemcenter@saintpeters.edu\">stemcenter@saintpeters.edu<\/a>. To book an appointment via a desktop, <a href=\"http:\/\/saintpeters.campus.eab.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">please visit saintpeters.campus.eab.com,<\/a> log in with your SPU credentials, go to the right-hand side and click Schedule an Appointment &gt; Tutoring &gt; Tutoring &gt; Select the kind of tutoring you need and the times that work best for you.*<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>We are hiring peer tutors and learning mentors!<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> All peer tutors and mentors must have a 3.4 cumulative GPA and at least 45 credits. Each subject tutor must have at least a B in the subject they wish to instruct.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Guidelines for Tutoring Appointments<\/h2>\n<h3>Students<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Students are expected to bring course materials, such as assignments, syllabi, or textbooks to their sessions. They should also practice academic skills or attempt their assignments outside the tutoring session.<\/li>\n<li>Students should actively engage in the session, such as asking questions, being honest about their needs and expectations, having the tutor quiz them on content, or revising parts of an assignment.<\/li>\n<li>Students should not book sessions during class time.<\/li>\n<li>Students should arrive on time for their sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Students should uphold academic integrity during the session.<\/li>\n<li>Students should maintain appropriate behavior during the session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Students who do not attend (no-show) or cancel two consecutive weekly appointments will be removed from the schedule and will have to meet with the Care &amp; Outreach Coordinator to discuss their needs and book future appointments.<\/p>\n<h3>Tutors<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Tutors should model problem-solving skills and offer opportunities for the students to practice them.<\/li>\n<li>Tutors cannot guarantee grades but should offer strategies and resources to help students improve their comprehension of course material and academic skills.<\/li>\n<li>Tutors should not complete an assignment or quiz\/test\/exam for the student.<\/li>\n<li>Tutors should arrive on time for their sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Tutors should be patient with students and encourage them to participate in the session.<\/li>\n<li>Tutors should maintain appropriate behavior during the session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The STEM Engagement &amp; Empowerment Center provides academic support services for all students enrolled in a STEM course regardless of intended major.
