Alicia D’Amato, director of CELAC, and Andrew Sansone, director of the Families for Literacy program, recently accompanied a group of Families for Literacy students to PATH’s Positive Train Control Center (PTCC) in Jersey City, where they toured the PTCC and learned about PATH’s operations and service to the community.

CELAC was one of the five finalists out of 114 candidates in the baccalaureate category for successfully advancing Hispanics in higher education. Founded in 2004, Excelencia in Education is the only national initiative that recognizes higher education programs that have been successful in improving Hispanic student achievement.
